Grange Golf Club’s Jack Williams has defended his Brian Ferris Memorial Trophy (Men’s Vardon) at Glenelg Golf Club on Sunday in convincing fashion, with a five stroke victory over Kooyonga’s Heath Riches. Glenelg Golf Club’s Josh Hayes was a further three strokes back in third place.
In ideal scoring conditions, Glenelg Golf Club held up to the test, with Williams the only player to break par, shooting a one-under-par 70 in the afternoon round, backing up his even par score in the morning.
Jenny Lee was far too good around her home track with a seven shot win over fellow Glenelg member Elysia Yap in the Women’s Vardon. Grange Golf Club’s Kristalle Blum, finished in third, three shots behind Yap.
Ben Tucker continued a solid year, taking out the Eric Scovell Trophy (Junior Vardon), three shots ahead of Glenelg’s Will Starkey.
