Glenelg was presented in superb condition as it hosted 16 teams from around the state for the 2013 Rhonda Watson Brooch. The Rhonda Watson Brooch sees three players from each club compete under team aggregate stroke play conditions.
Kooyonga had claimed the event for the last three years and sent an experienced team this year, while the Glenelg team consisting of Elysia Yap, Cathy Symons and Elise Dignan were determined to challenge for the trophy on home soil.
Some tough pins and home course advantage proved too strong and the Glenelg team managed to take out the 2013 event. Elysia Yap shot the low round of the day with an impressive 74 and whilst Cathy and Elise were disappointed with their 88 and 96 respectively, these scores were in keeping with the rest of the field. Grange’s Louise Glennon (88), Kristalle Blum (85) and Cassidy Evreniadis (92) finished seven shots behind in second place.
Kooyonga claimed the net prize with a net aggregate total of 235.
