Owen Whitford Trophy

OPEN TO AMATEURS & PROFESSIONALS

A qualifying round of *16 holes Foursomes Stroke Play will be played at Glenelg Golf Club on Sunday, 27th October 2024 at 2:00pm (shotgun start) to determine qualifying positions for the Owen Whitford Trophy, with the maximum number of teams to qualify being eight (8).

Handicap match play will take place over *16 holes on the following days: 

  • Quarter Final – Monday, 28th October at 2:30pm (please note, a minimum of 12 pairs must be entered in the event for quarter finals to take place)
  • Semi Final – Tuesday, 27th October at 2:30pm
  • Grand Final – Thursday, 31st October at 2:30pm 
  • Presentations will follow at approximately 5:30pm

The Owen Whitford Challenge, Glenelg Golf Club Mixed Foursomes Championship and Golf SA Mixed Foursomes Championship will be played in conjunction with the Qualifying Round of the Owen Whitford Trophy on Sunday, 27th October 2024.

Players may choose not to enter the match-play section of the Owen Whitford Trophy but will remain eligible for all trophies presented in the 2024 Golf SA Mixed Foursomes Championship.

ENTRANCE FEE: 

Glenelg Members

  • $60 per person – The Owen Whitford Trophy (Qualifying & Matchplay Event) – also includes entry into The Owen Whitford Challenge, Golf SA Mixed Foursomes and Club Mixed Foursomes Championships
  • $40 per person – Owen Whitford Challenge, Golf SA Mixed Foursomes Championship & Club Mixed Foursomes Championship (Sunday Only)

Non-Members

  • $120 per person – The Owen Whitford Trophy (Qualifying & Matchplay Event) – also includes entry into The Owen Whitford Challenge & Golf SA Mixed Foursomes 
  • $100 per person – Owen Whitford Challenge & Golf SA Mixed Foursomes Championship (Sunday Only)

Entrance Fee Includes:

  • Trophies & Prizes for all events
  • Light lunch prior to the shotgun start on Sunday 27th
  • Pizza/cocktail food following golf on Sunday 27th
  • Pizza for presentations following the final of the Owen Whitford Trophy on Thursday 31st.

Please note, all rounds will be played over 16 holes due to current hole closures under Glenelg’s Course Enhancement Plan. The remaining course is unimpacted and in outstanding condition, having just jumped up 3 places in the Top 100 Australian Golf Course rankings to #32.
