The annual 2024 Bronze Challenge was played against Royal Adelaide on their home course on Monday the 8th of April.
Despite perfect playing weather and a course in pristine condition the local knowledge especially of the greens proved to be a too much for our players. The final result was 6 1/2 to 2 1/2 games with the trophy staying at Royal for this year.
There were some very tight matches – Lynne Rainey in her maiden match play event came away with a win as did Jen Carlaw on the 18th hole and Val Hodgson wearing the club colours in her first match for Glenelg had a commendable halved result. Royal Adelaide as always made us feel very welcome and the hospitality continued off course culminating in a lovely lunch.
