We have a winner! In the Blitz Golf at North Adelaide last Friday our own Campbell Rawson emerged victorious in the final over Stephen Leaney, Wade Ormsby and Max McCardle to take home the top prize of $15,000. Cam is more a part-time pro these days but is still playing good golf. Junior member Jack Leonard also took part in the event making it through to the second round. Well done Cam!
Lachy Barker successfully navigated the 5 round Asian Tour Qualifying School in Thailand to secure playing rights for 2024. He finished at 8 under in a tie for 26th with the top 35 securing their cards. Congratulations Lachy!
At the Webex Players Series in Cobram Barooga, Jack Buchanan finished in a tie for 37th on 5 under after 4 rounds. Jack is now 62nd on the order of merit and Lachy 10th. This week the Webex series moves on to Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula where Lachy will be in action but Jack will have the week off. The Webex events are mixed fields playing the one event with smaller mens and womens fields than normal tour events.
In the Australian Amateur held at Yarra Yarra and Keysborough Golf Clubs both Kade Bryant and Jack Tanner made the 36 hole cut. Kade finished on +9 in a tie for 44th and Jack +11 in a tie for 55th. A great experience for both of these young players. This week Kade is playing in Sydney in the Avondale Amateur whilst Jack will head back to the US to finish his college year.
A special mention to Jack Leonard who won the 36 hole junior event at West Lakes and Thaxted Park on a score of 145. Harry Leaf-Milham was runner up and Fletch Ryan was 5th. In the girls event Bec Hardy lost in a play-off to Stephanie Keylock from Grange. Zoe Manton was 3rd. It is good to see our players gaining valuable experience on different courses as we turn our attention towards the upcoming pennant season.
