There were mixed results for our members last week. In the Master of the Amateurs held at Southern Golf Club in Melbourne, Jack Tanner had a solid week to finish in a tie for 33rd with scores of 72 72 72 71 = 287 (-1). Kade Bryant did not make the 54 hole cut.
Jack and Kade now move on to the Australian Amateur from 16-19 January at Yarra Yarra and Keysborough Golf Clubs. Scoring can be followed via the Golf Australia home page by clicking here.
In the professionals, last weeks event was the Heritage Classic held at Heritage Golf Club in Victoria. Jack Buchanan had a solid week to finish in a tie for 27th with scores of 70 66 72 73 = 281 (-7). Lachy Barker missed the cut on +4. Fellow South Australian and former Glenelg junior Jak Carter was runner up on -18 behind runaway winner Matt Griffin on -24. In the Order of Merit Lachy is now 7th and Jack 61st.
This week Jack will tee it up in the Webex Players Series at Cobram Barooga GC on the River Murray from 18 – 21 January. Scoring by clicking here.
Meanwhile, Lachy will be in Thailand playing in the Final Stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School. This event is over 5 rounds from 16-20 January. 219 players will be competing with the top 35 earning Asian Tour playing rights in 2024. There will be a cut after 36 holes (140 players and ties) and a further cut after 72 holes (70 players and ties). Scoring by clicking here.
