Glenelg’s Lachlan Booth (pictured) has finished in a tie for second place after today’s 2nd round of the final Golf SA Junior Open of the summer held at Kooyonga and The Grange, however it was Grange members, Kristalle Blum and Matthew Lisk, who took overall honours.
Lisk won the 36-hole event by an emphatic 14 shots following two impressive sub-par rounds of 69 at Kooyonga and 68 at the Grange for a two round total of 137. Lisk’s back to back rounds were the only two sub par scores of the 36-hole event.
Three players tied for second on an aggregate 151, with the Grange’s Andrew Nakone Jnr taking second spot honours on a countback from Jack Williams (Grange) and Lachlan Booth (Glenelg) following a second round 73 at The Grange. Kooyonga’s Jake Calvert was a further shot back on 152 following rounds of 78 and 74.
Our two Sam’s, Hynes and Raschella, had disappointing second rounds to finish in a tie for 6th place on 154. Todd Williams and Jack Hynes had strong final rounds of 77 and 75 respectively to round out the top 15 spots in the tournament.
In the Girls event, Kristalle Blum completed an impressive third consecutive Junior Open victory of the summer following rounds of 82 at Kooyonga and 81 at The Grange for a two round aggregate of 163. Blum held off a strong challenge from Cassidy Evreniadis (Grange) who finished a single shot back following rounds of 83 at Kooyonga and 81 at The Grange.
Katelyn Ryles was the best place Glenelg girl with rounds of 87, 85 to finish in a tie for 4th with Elysia Yap a further two shots back in 6th place.
