Sam Raschella fell one shot shy of taking out the Golf SA Junior Open event played at Glenelg over the last two days. SA state representative players Anthony Murdaca and Kristalle Blum continued their recent impressive form in taking out the events.
Earlier this week, Murdaca completed an impressive one-stroke victory at the Greg Norman Junior Masters nation ranking event at Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Club, whereas a week ago Blum won the corresponding junior open event at The Grange.
In today’s final round Murdaca (The Grange) carded a 7-over par 78 to go with yesterday’s 2-under par 69 for a two round total of 147.
He won by a single shot from local Glenelg member Samual Raschella (72, 76 – 148) with last week’s winner Ben Stowe (Royal Adelaide) a further two shots back in third place following rounds of 74 and 76 (150).
In the Girl’s championship, Blum (The Grange) recorded a comfortable 5-shot victory following rounds of 81 and 77 (158).
In second position was Glenelg’s Elysia Yap (84, 79 – 163) with Christine Beasley (Glenelg) finishing third after rounds of 81 and 86 (167).
