Pike Cup Round 1 Results
Round 1, 26 May
Great start to the Pike Cup with all team members showing true grit in a wet, windy and freezing cold day to defeat Kooyonga A2 team convincingly – 4 games to 1
Well-presented Tanunda Pines – tight fairways, tough greens – just staying in play with the blustery conditions was a challenge.
Saw some fabulous steady pressure putts sunk on the last – just like the one’s Sarah has been getting the team to practice! Thanks Sarah
Tilly Wheare defeated Jodie Deacon 5 & 4 – always in control of the match, strong all day, a reassuring lead at number 1 for the team.
Bec Hughes Squared Melissa Nelligen – a great come back in very testing conditions, struggled mid-way but showed strong determination, winning the 17th to finish square.
Lou Pike Squared Lane Trenorden – never say never, dogged determination to come from behind to win the last hole to square the match.
Eliza Baker defeated Deb Alexander 3 & 1 – youngest in our team but a mature approach to her game, didn’t disappoint with a solid finish.
Taylah Cooper defeated Linda Ferris 3 & 1 – representing Glenelg for the first time a good win to kick-start her Pennant career at Glenelg.
Thanks to Jo, Heather, Michael and Jim for driving out to Tanunda to caddie in the challenging conditions – worth your weight in Team Glenelg Gold!
