Simpson Cup Round 3 Results

Round 3, 26 May

The Simpson Cup team played Thaxted Park at Royal Adelaide, and in really difficult conditions, our boys played some fantastic Golf to record an impressive 6-1 victory.

A. Olsen – Playing his first game for the season, Anthony played in his usual consistent fashion to take an early 2up lead through the 7th. He continued his solid form to close out a tight contest 3/1.

H. Burner – Harry, also playing his first game for the season, got off to a nervous start to trail 2 down through 5 holes. He soon settled, and playing some very good golf, he closed out with a fine 4/2 victory.

J. Tanner – Continuing with his great early season form, Jack was off to a fast start for a 4 up lead and was always in control to record a fine 5/3 victory.

J. Hayes – Josh was also out fast for a commanding lead of 4 holes, and while his opponent played well to close within 2 at the 12th, Josh won the difficult 13th and 14th to record a solid 4/3 win.

B. Layton – Ben was involved in a close encounter early on, but then broke away through the middle holes to go on and win 4/3.

S. Earl – In a really high quality match, with never more than 1 hole separating them until the 17th, Sam went down 2/1. First loss for the year, we will address that next week.

J. Buchanan – Jack did what Jack normally does. Played really good golf to always have his match under his control. He went on to win 4/3.

Well played boys, we venture to Kooyonga next week, let’s keep the momentum rolling.
