Sanderson Cup fall short again

Shakira Kuys, Josie Gale, Charley Jacobs, Elysia Yap, Sarah Crocker and Jill Hodge (Manager)

Unfortunately our girls lost the final on Sunday to The Grange 3.5 – 1.5.

It was always going to be a tough assignment playing the home team and the girls did not get off to a great start with most 1 or 2 down after 6, but all fought back well to be close after 9.  It was a tense battle on the back nine but the putts did not fall our way.

Our girls just had to play their best golf and that did not happen, but I was proud of their endeavours and attitude.

Elysia Yap lost 4/3, Josie Gale 3/2 and Shakira Kuys lost on the 18th.

Sarah Crocker played really well on the back nine to be our only winner on the day finishing on the 15th.

Charley Jacobs was playing 16 when the match was abandoned due to a team result.

It was a great season but I know the girls will all be seeking revenge on Grange in 2019, and hopefully not on their home course.

Thanks to all the support from the GGC coaching team, golf operations, admin team and Committee.  We have a great competitive Club culture!

Also a special thanks to our wonderful caddies for the season, the girls could not have done it without you all.
