Three days, three holes in one, gee golf is an easy game! Congratulations to Glenelg members David Tamblyn, Cathy Symons and Henry Duregon on achieving a hole in one in the past few days.
Playing in the Senior Interclub competition on Friday, 11th August, David Tamblyn (representing Royal Adelaide) was 1 down with four to play against Brian Welsh. With Brian holing a 30 footer on the 15th, and David missing his subsequent 2 footer, he was 2 down with 3 to play. Brian hit his tee shot onto the 16th green leaving David needing to hole his to keep the match going. And hole it he did. Great shot David!
Hole in one specialist, Cathy Symons, is not one to be outdone. In her 53 years of golf, Cathy had had 9 holes in one. On Saturday, with a great shot into the 14th, she cracked into double figures for an amazing tenth hole in one. ‘Unfortunately’ for Cathy she might get no. 10 mixed up with no. 9, both well hit 8 irons into the 14th.
On Sunday, in the Vardon, Henry Duregon decided that putting was not required on the 11th green. In the morning round, he chipped in from the back hollow for birdie and, in the afternoon, he hit a nice drawing 6 iron into the hole. Three shots on one hole for two rounds of golf, pretty handy!
Congratulations to all!
