The removal of the Casuarina trees on the left hand side of the 12th hole has been undertaken as part of the Club’s ongoing Course Enhancement Plan and to address serious safety concerns regarding the prominent surface roots in that area.
The removal of these trees will enable and coincide with the following work to take place to enhance this section of the golf course:
- Widening of the fairway to the left;
- Improvement of turf quality in this area;
- Planting of additional pine trees as long term replacements for existing mature pines;
- Relocation and additional planting of native pines to screen housing and nursery;
- Shaping and planting of low mounding;
- Pruning of existing pines.
