Senior Pennant 2015 Season Review

SOLID SEASON BUT NO FINALS

RESULT: Glenelg finish 3rd in Section A – Just missed the Semi Finals.
Senior Pennant Team 2The Glenelg Senior Pennant team had a very strong season only losing one match to Blackwood. We halved with the very strong Tea Tree Gully side and secured 5 wins. However Section A was dominated by these 3 teams – Tea Tree Gully going through undefeated with 6 wins and a half (to Glenelg) and Blackwood with 6 wins and one loss to Tea Tree Gully. Only the top 2 teams from each Section go through to the Finals – so close, yet so far!

Full details of all matches can be seen on the Golf SA website, under events and then under Senior Pennant.

I would like to thank all players for their ready participation and for representing the Glenelg Golf Club with such high distinction.

The following is a summary of all player’s results:

John Keogh – played 3 games at No 1 against quality opposition for 3 wins
Wayne Humphries – playing at No 1 and No 2 for 5 wins, 1 half and one loss
Sandy Small – playing at mainly No 2 and No 3 – an undefeated season with 5 wins and one half from his 6 games
Ken Schebella – playing mainly at No 3 and No 4 had some tough matches winning 3 of 7 games played
Greg Kendall – great debut season from Greg – won 4 games, halved 2 and just 1 loss
Andrew Grieve – won 3 of his 5 games
Denis Prider (Mr. Reliable) – undefeated, played 4 games, won 4 games
Chis Hercock – won 2 of 4 games
Doug Clark – won 2 of 4 games
Graham Stone helped us out in our first match for a win
David Frost also played one game – he played quite well at Mt. Barker but lost a close encounter

So, a big thanks to all the players for their time and commitment in making themselves available to represent the club and I congratulate you all on a highly competitive season.
