Some minor changes have been made to the Local Rules on the back of scorecards that will come into effect shortly.
Changes that have been made are as follows:
- Defining all stakes, ropes, metal hoops and timber barrier hoops used to control traffic as movable obstructions to avoid the need to drop away from them, particularly in sandy areas of the golf course. Golfers are asked to reinstate them to their original location if moved.
- Clarification stating that where an immovable obstruction lies specifically within two club lengths of a putting green, the provisions of the Specimen Local Rule contained in Appendix 1, Part B, 6 apply. Previously, the local rule only referred to an object lying “close” to the putting green.
