Result: Glenelg 5 – 0 Highercombe

Glenelg kicked off the A3 pennant season in spectacular fashion, securing a dominant 5-0 victory over Highercombe at Mount Osmond. Under perfect playing conditions on a warm and sunny day, the team showcased exceptional skill and determination across all matches.

Match Highlights:

• Louise Pike (No. 1) delivered an outstanding performance, completely outplaying her opponent and sealing victory 8/7 on the 11th hole.

• Jo Ricourt (No. 3) demonstrated her sharp form with a 6/5 win, controlling the match with confidence.

• Tonia Ross (No. 2) displayed great composure and consistency, winning 5/3.

• Wendy Featherston (No. 4) played a solid match, securing a 4/3 victory.

• Sue Raggatt (No. 5) fought through a tightly contested match, which went down to the 18th hole. At 1 up, she needed to at least square the hole to win, which she did in style with a clutch chip to within 3 feet of the pin, sealing the perfect team result.

A huge thank you goes out to our caddies – Nick, Anne, Jill, Jo, and Cathy – for their support, particularly in tackling the steep climbs of Mount Osmond. Their efforts played a crucial role in helping the team secure this victory.
