About the role

As the Marketing & Communications Officer, you will lead the marketing and promotion of the Club’s brand internally and externally. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote Glenelg Golf Club, attract new members, and engage with existing members. You will promote the Club’s offerings in order to drive business growth and provide input into the further development of the Club’s Strategic and Business plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality and engaging content across multiple platforms including web, social media, email direct marketing and print publications. 
  • Produce video & photographic content across a range of communications channels, performing role of videographer and photographer as required. 
  • Drive growth in audience & engagement across existing and emerging digital & social media platforms
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of a marketing strategy to attract new members, retaining existing members, improve member services and boost the hospitality and function business.
  • Track and analyse digital marketing performance using analytics tools and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in marketing and communications and incorporating these into our content while staying on-brand.
  • Participate as an office team member, assisting in administrative duties as required.

What we are looking for

  • Hold tertiary qualification in marketing and/or sports management AND/OR proven experience in a marketing role.
  • Relevant technical skills in video production, photography and website maintenance and improvements.
  • An understanding and passion for the sporting and entertainment industry.
  • Knowledge of golf is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong written and communications skills.
  • Persuasive and articulate with exceptional presentation skills and ability to engage and motivate people.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external stakeholders from a range of professional backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of Windows, Microsoft, Adobe & Social Media platforms.
  • The ability to work flexible hours including some weekend work is required.
