David Rice to join Glenelg’s Pro Shop

The Club is pleased to welcome back David Rice to the Glenelg Golf Club’s Pro Shop as the Golf Operations Manager. Joining us from Kooyonga Golf Club, David was previously employed as Glenelg Golf Club’s Clubhouse Operations Manager in 2019.

David has extensive management experience across a number of different industries including golf, media, sales and marketing, wine, hospitality and tourism.

David’s experience in Golf goes back to 2015, having held the position of General Manager at Sandy Creek Golf Club for fours years, before joining the team right here at Glenelg in 2019, as Clubhouse Operations Manager. Having left the industry to take up General Management positions in Tourism and Hospitality, David was excited to move back into Golf early in 2023, following a sea change from the Barossa Valley to Glenelg. He joins us from Kooyonga Golf Club where he has been rounding out his industry experience as Golf and Operations Manager.

When pressed for what team he follows, the answer came back ‘the Crows’. But be more prepared to talk to David about food, wine, restoring vintage motorcycles and, if talking sport, MotoGP and F1! He’s happy to talk golf too, just don’t ask about his own game!

I look forward to contributing to the ongoing success and reputation of the Pro shop, golf operations, and the Club more broadly. It will be nice to see some familiar faces, and also to forge new relationships, while continuing to deliver on the highest standards of service set by Shane and his team.’
