Last week saw the holding of the Avondale Amateur in Sydney and for the professionals the Webex Players Series Victoria held at Rosebud GC. Kade Bryant was our sole representative at Avondale. Scores of 74 -74 over the first two rounds saw him make the cut right on the number at +6. In the last two rounds he was able to improve his position with scores of 73 -70 to finish in a tie for 44th at +7. That completes a big few weeks for Kade on his eastern states tour. Back to school today!
In the Webex event Lachy Barker got off to a great start with opening scores of 66 – 66 to go into the weekend at -10 just 3 shots off the lead. However he was not able to keep the momentum going shooting 73 – 71 over the weekend to finish at -8 in a tie for 24th. He has moved up two places on the Order of Merit to 8th (in reality 5th as 3 players above him will not play the minimum number of events to stay off the final list). He will be aiming for the top three on the final OOM which would secure a European Tour Card next year. Jack Buchanan had the week off. This week it is the $420,000 Vic Open at Thirteenth Beach with both Lachy and Jack in the field.
