The Australasian PGA Tour resumes next week following the Christmas break. The $200,000 Heritage Classic will be held at the Heritage Golf Club in Victoria from 11-14 January with Lachy Barker and Jack Buchanan competing. That will be followed by the Webex Players Series event at Cobram Barooga from 18-21 January. Prior to Christmas Lachy finished 3rd at 9 under in the Sandbelt Invitational played at Royal Melbourne, Yarra Yarra, Peninsula Kingswood and Victoria Golf Clubs. This was a non Order of Merit event. Jack finished on 3 over in a tie for 30th.
January also sees the staging of two of Australia’s biggest amateur events. First up is the Master of the Amateurs to be held at Southern Golf Club in Melbourne from 9-12 January. That will be followed by the Australian Amateur from 16-19 January at Yarra Yarra and Keysborough Golf Clubs. Glenelg will be represented by Kade Bryant and Jack Tanner in both events. Jack is back from college in the USA on a short break. Both events are 72 holes of stroke play and they hold World Amateur Golf Ranking status. The Master of the Amateurs is an invitation event comprising an elite field of 96 men and 72 women with players from all over the world competing. A cut will be made after 54 holes. The Australian Amateur will feature 209 men and 103 women with a cut after 36 holes.
Best of luck to Lachy, both Jacks and Kade!
