Blue skies and sunshine greeted the 116 players to the inaugural Glenelg BMW Hospitality Day. Glenelg welcomed visitors from North Adelaide, Westward Ho, Victor Harbor, Mt Osmond, Links Lady Bay, Kooyonga, Mt Barker, Tea Tree Gully and Grange, and the format of Canadian stableford foursomes seemed to be enjoyed by all.
Monique Russell from Glenelg BMW and Phil Day were in charge of on course refreshments and were warmly welcomed with their servings of champagne and chocolate.
I would like to thank Glenelg BMW for their very generous sponsorship of the day which included vouchers for longest drive A B and C grade, nearest to the pin on all par 3’s for all grades , 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in the competition of the day, 5 lucky card draws and the main raffle prize of a BMW for a weekend.
The winners of the day were:
- 3rd Bev Franklin and Sue Crawford, 36 points
- 2nd Joy Green and Louise Pike, 37 points on a count back
- 1st Sue Raggatt and Sue Tuohy, 37 points
- The raffle was won by Janet Fleer

Thanks also to Shane Robinson and all the Pro Shop staff for their coordination of the event. To Tim Warren and the greenkeepers, thanks for presenting the course so beautifully and to all the house staff, thank you for a lovely lunch and for all your hard work – there seemed to be much good cheer in the dining room over lunch.
