Report by Joy Green
Team Manager
We played Kooyonga on Sunday, 24th June at Glenelg.
To date, we had one win, one halved match and one loss, so it was imperative that we won to have a fighting chance to make the finals.
The team came through with a win of 4.5 to 0.5. Great job!
Tilly Wheare had an up and down game against Jodie Pyke but the final result was her way. Tilly hit the ball exceptionally well but Jodie apparently didn’t miss too many putts. Tilly had a great birdie on 14 and won 2/1.
Sam White played Melissa Nelligan and won 6/4. Sam was steady and I watched her putt from off the green on the 2nd to within a few inches of the hole; she was given the putt.
Tilly Miels had an exceptional game against Linda Ferris. Tilly was 3 up after playing 4 holes and continued that way to finish 6/5.
Louise Pike played Penny Wark and had mum, Kay Pike, out to watch. Louise halved her match against Penny.
Bec Hughes played Deb Alexander and was square after 8 holes, but was 1 up after 11 holes and continued to win the 16th and 17th holes to win 3/1.
Thank you to our caddies,Gavin Wheare, Hannah Brown, Cathy Symons, Jade Kinita, Heather Waddy and Brian Hughes.
Thanks must also go to our supporters along with our stalwart Lady Captain, Sue Tuohy, for coming out to watch.
I was exceptionally pleased with the performance of the team, however, we would like to see more supporters next week when we have to play Tea Tree Gully at Royal Adelaide, another must win game.
