Report by Jill Hodge
Team Manager
The rain stayed away for us up in the hills & all players started the day well and were on top of their games right from the start for an impressive victory against the home team.
A great start to our season and one I hope they can all build from. I was particularly pleased with their short putting skills.
Thanks to our wonderful Caddies, mainly Dads – Andre Kuys, Andrew Hodge, Mark Griffiths & Tony Martin and our solo spectator Sue Tuohy and lovely to see our Captain Bevan & lovely wife Marg watch us hit off.
Next week we are again in the hills at Mt Osmond against our arch rivals Grange, so it should be a great contest.
No.1 Charley Jacobs won 2 up v Gale MacPherson. This was the match of the day with Charley birdieing two of the last three holes to go from 1 down to 2 up. She was par for the day and had five birdies, both players played with great sportsmanship and skill. Well done Charley for toughing it out and playing really well under pressure!
No. 2 Elysia Yap won 5 & 3 v Angela Masters. By Elysia’s standards it was not her best performance but she ground it out and came away with a convincing win.
No. 3 Sarah Crocker won 4 & 3 v Jo Buchanan. Sarah hit the ball extremely well all day and was very close to the pin on many occasions, having two birdies and square with the card for 15 holes. An excellent start to the season!
No. 4 Josie Gale won 4 & 3 v Sally Graham. Josie also played well right from the start and was always in control for a convincing win.
No. 5 Shakira Kuys won 3 & 2 v Paul White. Shakira played steady golf most of the day and was 1 up at the turn, but played well on the back nine for a great win.
