The Glenelg vs Royal Adelaide Bronze Challenge was held at Glenelg on Monday, 31st July 2017. Unfortunately Glenelg lost the Bronze Challenge in some tightly contested matches 4 – 5.
Gerry Hall started with a 7/6 win against her opponent followed by and 3/2 win by Ruth Croall. Jeanne Scardigno lost her match as did Deb Bennett. So with two matches each it was becoming a very interesting scenario.
Both Cheryl Franzi and Arja Korhonen won but Jane Bellgrove and Jill McDonald lost resulting in four matches each.
So it came down to the last match between Jo McCarthy and her opponent. Jo lost the first couple of holes and was still 2 down after fifteen holes and eventually lost 2/1.
The camaraderie was great between all players and the day was finished with a great lunch at Glenelg Golf Club. Thank you to Golf Operations for their assistance and special thanks to Phil, Laura and James who helped to make the day a wonderful golfing experience to all who attended.
