One step closer for Sanderson Cup

Charley JacobsReport by Jill Hodge
Team Manager

We continue our march to the Grand Final beating Blackwood 5-0.

All our girls played really well in very trying conditions as it rained for 9 holes quite steadily and now are almost certain to make this year’s final against the Grange team.

One more match to win this week against The Vines at The Vines at 11.15am.

Elysia Yap No.1.

Elysia won her match 6/4 against Gale Macpherson and played steady golf all day. She made 3 fantastic up and down pars on her last 3 holes to win convincingly. She remains undefeated after 4 matches and is having a terrific season!! Well done Elysia!!!

Charley Jacobs No.2

Charley made her return after two weeks off with a wrist injury and won in convincing style against Angela Masters 6/4. We know she can keep up the good form for the rest of the season. Well played Charley and great to have you back.

Josie Gale (nee Hodge) No.3

Josie played well all day against Sally Graham and won very comfortably 6/5. She now has 2 wins in a row and is finding some form for the important end to the season.

Sarah Crocker No.4

Sarah played Paula White and was hitting close shots all day winning 6/5. It would have been an easier win but Paula kept holing very long putts. Keep up the good form Sarah for the next 2 matches.

 Matilda Wheare No.5

Tilly out played her opponent Bronie Buckley all day to secure a very comfortable win 7/6. Keep up the good form for next week.

I would like to thank all the caddies – Bob Tuohy, Holly Burns, Andrew Hodge, Chris Crocker & Gavin Wheare.

It was great to see Tony Martin & Fran Brown out supporting our girls and Sue Tuohy as always supporting all our teams.

We have one more match next week to win and then the final at Royal Adelaide the following week.

I truly believe this could be our year so keep up the hard work girls – 2 weeks to go!!
