We had six very enthusiastic volunteers on hand from 8:00am on a brisk but beautiful Monday morning this week to help our course staff with some tree planting. About 50 self-sown pine trees were harvested for transplanting, and nearly 30 native pines were planted in an extremely productive morning. In time these will help to screen some of the views to housing at the rear of the 10th green and left of the 12th hole, as well as serve as succession planting between the 8th and 9th holes.
And we’re told the well-earned coffee and danishes were pretty good afterwards as well!
To the following members we say a big thank you;
-
Mr & Mrs Paul Kennewell
-
Ken Schebella
-
Bob Loveday
-
Alan Ockenden
-
Brian Daniels
It was a great opportunity for staff and members to mix and see something productive for their efforts, so stay tuned for the next project….we’d love to see you there!
