It was a tough day out today for all players, caddies and managers, it rained just about all day, so congratulations to all who participated. We played Tea Tree Gully at Thaxted Park, and managed another fabulous win of 4/1.
The Cleek team played strongly in cold and drizzly conditions at our home course today to score a win against The Stirling. There were a couple of very close matches but our girls showed great heart and finished well, winning 3.5 to 1.5.
The Bonnar Cup team had another strong win at Royal Adelaide against The Vines winning the match 7 nil. Next Sunday we play Tea Tree Gully at Glenelg from 11.15am – it would be nice to see some members out supporting the lads whilst we play at home.
Unfortunately the girls fought hard all day in very windy, wet conditions at Kooyonga but could not get the win losing 1.5 to 3.5 to last year’s winning Grange team.
In very tough conditions of swirly winds and on and off rain, the Glenelg Simpson cup team fought out a tough 5 matches to 2 win against a very resilient Grange team on Sunday.
The Sharp Cup Team travelled to Tea Tree Gully to play against Tea Tree Gully in the first round of the season. In challenging winds the Team had a very solid 4 1/2 matches to 1/2 match win.
Selecting their best 5 players each week may be a challenge as Glenelg have an extremely strong squad, however, if that’s their major problem they will be in for a strong season. Expect the Tigers to pounce in 2017.
