Glenelg Seniors continue winning streak

Round 4 of the Golf SA Seniors Pennant was played at Blackwood on Monday in warm and sunny conditions. The greens were rolling nicely but were very quick and it was important to avoid some of the lightning quick downhill putts.

We had a keen tussle against Kooyonga and it was pleasing to record a 5/2 win.

Terry Cummins at No. 7 got us off to a good start recording another strong win with a 5/3 victory.

Anthony Doyle at No. 1 also had an early finish winning his match 5/4.

Chris Whitford at No. 3 struggled early to be 6 down at one stage but fought back strongly to take his match to the 18th to eventually lose 2 down. Sandy Small at No. 4 also lost his match 2 down after a tight game all day.

Ken Schebella at No. 6 and Greg Kendall at No. 5 both had close matches to both win 1 up, whilst Wayne Humphries at No. 2 had a narrow 2/1 win.

So, we have had 4 matches for 4 wins, but our last 3 matches are all against the next 3 top sides and will be tough games to win.

Our next match is against South Lakes to be played at Kooyonga on Monday, October 31st.
