The Cudmore-Cheney Junior Girls & SA Junior Boy’s series was played at Heywood Golf Club, Victoria over the long weekend.
14 players, six girls and eight boys were selected to compete against border rivals Victoria. Glenelg’s Frank Vucic, Jack Tanner, Brodie Whitbread, Charley Jacobs and Shakira-Ann Kuys competed in the annual challenge.
South Australia took the honours in the Girls Series winning 5 ½ matches to 3 ½.
On day one, South Australian Charley Jacobs won the Audrey McLaren Trophy with 39 stableford points in the individual event.
SA lead 2 v 1 after the foursomes match play in the afternoon on day one, and in the individual match play on day two, SA won 3 ½ matches v 2 ½ to edge ahead.
In the boys Series Victoria defeated South Australia 8 ½ matches to 7 ½.
It was a close contest on the opening morning in the Stroke Match Play with both states claiming two wins each.
And in the Foursomes Match Play in the afternoon both states took the honours with SA winning match one and four and Victoria matches two and three.
In the individual Match Play the Victorians crept ahead winning 4 ½ v 3 ½ to claim the series 8 ½ matches to 7 ½.
