The annual Bay vs Beach Trophy, between Glenelg GC and 13th Beach was played on the Sunday of the Adelaide Cup weekend at 13th Beach.
6 couples from each Club enjoyed some typical Victorian coolish and overcast conditions on the brilliant Beach course.
For the first time the visiting Club overcame the ‘home course’ advantage to retain bragging rights and therefore Glenelg Golf Club retained the trophy.
It was a very friendly but hard fought high calibre tussle with some players scoring 39 to 41 individual points that eventually saw Glenelg prevail in the 4BBB match play event 3 ½ to 2 ½.
The relationship between Glenelg and 13th Beach is unbelievably good and members are encouraged to experience the Interclub Matches.
