Glenelg’s representatives played in the Pauline Sanderson Bowl on Thursday at Kooyonga Golf Club.
Eleven payers were selected by the Women’s sub-committee to represent Glenelg in the event and managed to halve the match with Kooyonga, 5.5 matches all. Given Glenelg was the current holder of the Bowl, the Club retains it for another six months. This was our first “win” on foreign soil.
The Pauline Sanderson Bowl is held twice per year – once at Kooyonga and once at Glenelg – and is named in honor of the SA Golf Industry Hall of Fame member. The event is a team handicap matchplay trophy for players with handicaps between 20 and 30.
Pauline Sanderson, as some may know, has had a long and illustrious career in SA golf and is a member of both Glenelg and Kooyonga. She was in attendance at the event to present the trophy to Glenelg.
