We are pleased to announce that in the current January 2014 edition of Golf Australia magazine, Glenelg Golf Club has again improved in the national rankings, now sitting 28th in the country.
Two years ago Golf Australia Magazine brought their first ever comprehensive ranking of the nations top 100 courses, in the same manner as Australian Golf Digest Magazine. Glenelg debuted at 29th in the country and improved this year, despite tough competition.
Golf Australia Magazine commented “South Australia’s Glenelg layout keeps winning accolades from the judges”
2013 Australian Open venue Royal Sydney placed only one spot ahead of ‘the Bay’ at 27, while sitting below Glenelg on the rankings were regarded courses such as The Australian (29th), Yarra Yarra (37th) and Huntingdale (51st).
While Glenelg improved in the rankings, Royal Adelaide fell one place to 11th in the rankings, Kooyonga slid to 26th and Grange West fell one place to 31st in the country. The newly designed Grange East debuted at 39. The only other Adelaide course to fair in the rankings was Links Lady Bay, ranked at 66.
Australian Golf Digest release their rankings in the March 2014 edition, due out in mid-February. In the previous rankings in March 2012, Glenelg was rated 40th, up from 45th in the 2010 rankings.
