Lameroo’s Deb Christie, also a member of Glenelg, has been victorious yet again in the Women’s Country Silver Championship held in the Riverland at Waikerie Golf Club last month.
Deb had scores of 78-74 (152) to take the title, in what was another successful Golf SA Women’s Country Week held from 23 to 25 July 2013. Around 350 players competed from across the state over the four grades.
Juliet Hugo from Royal Adelaide finished with the best net aggregate with a score of 148. The winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were Helen Chilton & Virginia Dedonatis with a score of 70.5.
The Bronze Salver (19-24 h/cap) hosted by Kimba Golf Club on the Eyre Peninsula, was won by Julie Baird from the Thaxted Park Golf Club with a 36 hole score of 180.
Best net aggregate went to Ann Trewartha (Coffin Bay) 136. The Winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were also from Coffin Bay Golf Club, P Britza & J Puckridge Net 73.
McCracken Golf Club hosted the Bronze Shield (25-32 h/cap) event with local player Janet Tucker taking the honours with a score of 219. The Best Net Aggregate award went to Judy Willoughby (Royal Adelaide) on 160.
Petrina Smith and Julienne Wilks from Lucindale claimed the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event with a score of 73.5.
Minlaton Golf Club on the Yorke Peninsula hosted the Bronze Plate (33-45 h/cap), with Fiona Bilney from Roxby Downs victorious with a net 72. Margaret Rawlinson (Blackwood) net 65 was runner up.
Winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were Julia Hoskin & Cherie Taylor from Balaklava with a net 69.5.
