Glenelg’s Campbell Rawson and Elysia Yap have performed strongly yet again with a third and second place finish respectively in the Kooyonga Vardon played on Sunday, 28th July.
In the Men’s H L Rymill Championship, local member Heath Riches was too strong winning by four shots from Tyron Turnbull. Campbell Rawson finished a further shot back following up a disappointing 79 in the morning with a very respectable 75 in the afternoon.
Elysia Yap led the Women’s Vardon by five shots after an 83 in round one. Playing off the men’s white course, pars were proving hard to come by for the women, with Yap stumbling to a 91 in the afternoon. Royal Adelaide’s Caitlin Roberts eventually came home with an 86, after 88 in the morning to win the event two shots ahead of Yap.
