New Reciprocal Club Agreements

We are pleased to advise members of the signing of two new exciting reciprocal agreements.

Newcastle Golf Club located in Fern Bay, New South Wales, and Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club on Queensland’s Gold Coast have both been added to our reciprocal list.

Newcastle Golf Club has been established as a Full Reciprocal Club, entitling members the opportunity to transfer their membership. Newcastle has a pay as you play type structure and consequently a  minimal green fee is applicable when accessing the golf course under our reciprocal playing privileges.

The agreements with Sanctuary Cove offers member introduced green fee prices as opposed to normal rack rates paid by the general public.  This new arrangement is in line with already established relationships with Twin Waters (QLD), Links Hope Island (QLD), Robina Woods (Qld), Murray Downs (Vic) and Joondalup (WA).

Newcastle Golf Club – www.newcastlegolf.com.au

A true championship course of 6200 metres (6780 yards) ranked inside Australia’s top 20 courses, Newcastle Golf Club is based on undulating sand dunes like those of the great historic links of Great Britain and Ireland.

However, instead of fairways lined by gorse and heather, Newcastle is carved out of a forest of Eucalypts and angophoras abounding in native flora and fauna, including kookaburras, bearded dragons and kangaroos, making it a delightful as well as a challenging course to play.

Although the course is situated only a few kilometres from the busy industrial city and port of Newcastle, the wide bands of trees separating the fairways give a feeling of peaceful isolation from the cares of the world.

Current green fee for Glenelg members is $18.00
(Fees may be subject to change.)

Sanctuary Cove Golf Club – www.sanctuarycovegolfclub.com.au

Sanctuary Cove is acclaimed worldwide as an international resort of excellence. Since opening in 1987, Australia’s first fully integrated resort has offered magnificent community facilities and a superb lifestyle, conveniently located for travel from Surfers Paradise and Brisbane.

The Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club has long been a golfer’s haven with two 18 hole golf courses, an elegant Country Club and leisure facilities that offer a range of lifestyle options.  The Members’ only Arnold Palmer designed Pines golf course and The Palms golf course (recently redesigned by Ross Watson and reopened in April 2011) offer players a world-class golfing experience.

The outstanding golf courses are complemented by superb golfing facilities that extend beyond the well-manicured greens. The Members’ only clubhouse offers views over the golf course, gourmet dining and entertainment.  The Country Club comprises a fully operational gymnasium, a wide array of fitness classes, luxurious locker rooms with spa and sauna facilities and plenty more.

Current green fee for Glenelg members is $82.50 (including golf cart)
(Fees may be subject to change.)

As with all reciprocal arrangements, members must first obtain a Letter of Introduction from the Club to be provided to the reciprocal club when playing.  Members must ensure they abide by all rules, regulations and booking requirements at the reciprocal club.  Before seeking play, members are advised to clarify the nature and status of the reciprocal agreement with the Administration Office.
