Carp Removal Works to be undertaken next week

As part of the Club’s ongoing ASR Maintenance Program, we will have contractors on site next week (commencing Tuesday, 29th May) to carry out European Carp control and removal.

The works will be undertaken by UrbanVirons, who also undertake similar works on much larger wetland areas at the Barker Inlet and Northfield.  They use a special system of netting and removing carp from the water, and which does not require complete draining of the ASR wetland areas.

We will commence draining water from the ASR wetland system this week in preapration for the works using the system’s automatic drainage system, with water levels being lowered to shallow levels.  The visual impact of drainage will not be as obvious as in previous years.

Every effort will made to minimise disruption to players during the works.
