Glenelg members Jenny Lee and Amy Zhou have taken out the top two spots in the Jack Newton Junior International Qualifying.
In the presence of the legendary Jack Newton himself, Jenny Lee (Glenelg GC) and Ben Tucker (Robe GC) have claimed overall honours in the SA Girls and Boys State Qualifying for the 2012 Jack Newton Junior International played at the South Course at North Adelaide.
Lee with a score of 74 finished 7 strokes ahead of Amy Zhou in the Girls 15 – 17 yrs category, with Acacia Curtis finishing third on gross 82.
With a score of 84, Kristalle Blum (Grange) claimed the Girls 14 and under title ahead of Cassidy Evreniadis 90 and Matilda Wheare 93.
In the Boys 15 – 17 yrs event Anthony Murdaca (Grange) claimed the trophy on countback from Jordan Bishop and Peter Johns after the three players were all tied on gross 75.
Ben Tucker’s score of 74 saw him claim both the Boys 14 and Under Event and the overall Jack Newton Cup. Hayden Booth 79 and Travis Miller 82 were the minor placegetters in the 14 and under category.
