Booth, Raschella start well at Kooyonga

Glenelg’s Lachlan Booth (pictured) and Sam Raschella have started well in the 36 Hole Golf SA Junior Open event following the first round played at Kooyonga Golf Club today.

Booth fired a 1-over par 73 to be placed second, four shots behind Grange’s Matt Lisk, who shot an outstanding 3-under par 69.  Raschella is one shot behind Booth after a 2-over 74 to be tied in equal third with Grange’s Jack Williams.

Sam Hynes shot a 4-over 76 to be in equal 5th place with McCracken’s Josh Hayes.

Mitch Taht had a disappointing opening round 82 with Todd Williams a further shot back on 83.  Jack Hynes was another three shots behind with an 86 and Will Starkey a further five shots adrift shooting 91.

In the girl’s event, Elysia Yap is the best place Glenelg junior after a disappointing 86, eight shots behind 1st round leader, Rachel Taylor from Mt Osmond.  Katelyn Ryles is a further shot back with Matilda Wheare shotting an excellent 88 (net 75) to be equal third in the net event.

The final round of the 36 hole event will be played at The Grange Golf Club tomorrow.
